After many years of effort, Wisconsin now has an off-highway motorcycle published into law.

Bills sponsored by Representative Jeff Mursau of Crivitz and Senator Jerry Petrowski of Marathon were addressed by the legislature this session. Assembly Bill 470 passed the Assembly 98 to 0 and the Senate 32 to 0. Governor Walker signed the bill on February 29th. The law will become effective on October 1, 2016.

The law provides for a self-funded sticker program that allows us to generate funds to build and sustain motorcycle trails and it extablishes the necessary regulation of off-highway motorcycling.

There is much to be done before the law goes into effect and WOHMA is involved in the issues working to ensure a successful transition.
